Ultimate tournament

Two weekends ago, we travelled two hours east to Marquette for an Ultimate Frisbee Hat Tournament. Both Chris and I were assigned to two of six teams and we played some awesome games at the Superior Dome, the biggest wooden dome in the world: http://webb.nmu.edu/SportsAthletics/SiteSections/Facilities/SuperiorDome.shtml

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superior_Dome The athlete that is Chris was so fun to play against and watch and the mama with heart that is me had a great time trying to keep up with all the passionate athletes! The girls were angels on the sidelines and had the run of this huge building. They were rewarded with new, sparkly shoes from Target. Big city shopping!

Valentine's Day bake sale fun

Naomi's preschool held a Valentine's Day bake sale and the girls and I were busy in the kitchen. We made two from-scratch yellow cakes with homemade vanilla buttercream and fondant frosting, lemon bars, orange popcorn balls and toffee with almonds. Yum!!

This was our first time working with fondant, it was fun!
